After working for 20 years in television news, I began a new chapter in my life in 2015. I earned a PhD in Media Research and Practice (Journalism track) at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am currently a tenure-track assistant professor of journalism at Cal State Fullerton and also serve as a producer for Titans Sports Network. I also have a Masters degree in Professional Writing from Chatham University and a B.A. in Communication from Pepperdine University.
I worked as a sports anchor/reporter and senior news reporter for FOX 10 KSAZ-TV in Phoenix, Arizona from 1999-2015. Prior to working in Arizona, I was a sports anchor/reporter for KEZI-TV ABC 9 in Eugene, Oregon for three years. I also hosted a national outdoor series on the Outdoor Life Network, called Great Hikes and worked as a marketing assistant at the L.A. Clippers.
At CSUF, as well as teaching, I am a producer for Titans Sports Network.
I have taught all the broadcast journalism courses, including the Capstone broadcast journalism class, COMM 472 - TV News Production (OC News), a live newscast produced by students.
